How to shop Hair
Wash day: cleanse, condition and treat
Start with a clean scalp. A clarifying shampoo removes product buildup, so use it every few washes. Try the OrganiGrowHairCo Growpoo Clarifying Shampoo or the Naturally Drenched Reboot Detox Shampoo. On other wash days, a moisturizing shampoo is gentler. While you lather, massage your scalp with your fingertips or a soft scalp scrubber, like the one from MASAMI. It lifts buildup and feels great.
Know your porosity. Low-porosity hair resists water and can feel coated by heavy products. OrganiGrowHairCo made The Condish, a protein-free conditioner, for low to medium porosity hair. Once a week, swap your conditioner for a deep mask. The Florae Beauty Hydration Booster & Superfruit Deep Treatment Mask is made for deep hydration and smoother strands.
Style and define
Layer from light to heavy. Start with a leave-in on damp hair, add a cream for softness, then a gel or foam for hold.
- Leave-in: Bask And Bloom Essentials Ease Leave-In Conditioner adds moisture without weight.
- Cream: LushUs Hair Sea Moss & Marula Oil Curl Pudding works as a curl cream or a twisting cream.
- Hold: Bask And Bloom Twirly Hair Gel is alcohol-free, for twist-outs, braid-outs and wash-and-gos.
Humid day? Choose a gel with more hold and let it dry fully before you touch your hair.
Protect and maintain
Good tools cut down on breakage. Detangle damp hair from the ends up with a wide paddle, like the KAZMALEJE KurlsPlus Paddle Comb. Blot, don't rub, with the MASAMI Fast Drying Hair Towel to reduce frizz and time under the dryer. Caught in the rain? The satin-lined Hairbrella Classic Rain Cap keeps a fresh style dry.
How do I know my hair porosity?
Porosity is how easily your hair takes in and holds water. Low-porosity hair takes a while to get wet and products can sit on top. High-porosity hair soaks up water fast but dries quickly. Watch how your hair acts on wash day. That is often a better guide than any single test.
What's the difference between a leave-in conditioner and a curl cream?
A leave-in conditioner is light. It adds moisture and slip after you wash, and you can use it every day. A curl cream is thicker. It softens, adds definition and helps clump curls together. Most people use a leave-in first, then a cream, then a gel or foam if they want more hold.
How often should I use a clarifying shampoo?
Use one when your hair feels coated, limp or slow to absorb moisture. For many people, that's every 2–4 weeks. If you use a lot of gels and creams, you may need it more often. Follow a clarifying wash with a deep conditioner or mask to put moisture back.
Do you sell hair tools as well as products?
