Founder Stories · Brand Spotlight
Be honest: how many times have you changed outfits because of visible panty lines? Tara Harris had a bigger problem. After surgery, she couldn't comfortably wear the underwear she used to rely on. So she invented something that didn't exist yet.
“If there are nipple covers for women, why isn’t there something similar for our most valuable lady part (MVLP)?”
— Tara Harris, Founder & CEO, FemeFlex
Meet the HR executive turned inventor behind FemeFlex, the pantiless panty liner that sticks to you, not your underwear.

A problem she lived first
The idea came out of Tara's own recovery. On the FemeFlex site, she explains it plainly: “I had surgery two years ago that made it difficult for me to wear certain sorts of undergarments, such as thongs or tight-fitting undergarments, which effectively eliminates 80% of the market's selection if you're also concerned about panty lines.”
As someone who hated panty lines under her leggings, she was stuck. Her fix was a liner with a peel-and-stick top side that attaches directly to the body. After engineering it and wearing it herself, she realized it could help a lot of other women too.
From the boardroom to the factory floor
Tara didn't set out to start a company. She grew up in a small Georgia town, graduated from Morris Brown College, an HBCU, and spent more than 14 years in Human Resources, rising to Senior Director while earning her MBA. Her mom shaped her drive early:
“My mom did not teach me to marry rich, she taught me to have my own independence and not rely on a man for support.”
In her words to Voyage LA: “Becoming an entrepreneur was never part of my plan.”
Four years of “no”
Creating a brand-new product category meant hearing no, over and over. It took roughly four years to find a manufacturer willing to make a pantiless liner. Many people told her nobody would wear one.
“Everybody told me … ‘We can’t do it, and ain’t gonna do it … good luck,’” she told the Albany Herald. “But, I didn’t give up, and I finally found a manufacturing company that took on the project.”
Without outside funding, she produced a first run of 140,000 liners and launched FemeFlex as a one-woman operation. Since then, she has won a Small Business Innovation Research grant through the University of Georgia to work on a biodegradable version suitable for women in the military.
“Remember, you only fail if you give up.”
Meet the “coochie sticker”
Fans have a nickname for it, and Tara embraces it. FemeFlex is an unscented, disposable liner with a gentle silicone adhesive around the border, so it stays on your skin with no underwear needed. It measures about 7 × 10 cm, small enough to disappear under leggings, bodysuits and fitted dresses.

How to wear it
- Peel: unwrap the liner and peel off the backing.
- Place: center it on clean, dry skin and press gently to secure.
- Go: remove as needed and apply a fresh one. FemeFlex recommends changing it at least twice a day.
Good to know: it's designed for everyday freshness, not for periods. Per the brand's FAQ, the silicone holds best on clean, dry skin with no lotions or oils in the area.
